There was a time when I didn’t think that a powerful woman existed inside of me. From teen motherhood to divorce and a multitude of other struggles in between, I found myself feeling broken and defeated. It was in my lowest moments when life had brought me to my knees that I realized I needed to stop living by fear and start living by faith. I made God my foundation and the life he’s helped me build is beyond what I could have imagined. Today, I walk in faith and courage with my head and my stilettos high.

It was after the loss of my sister in 2012 that I discovered exactly where I was walking to. My sister was my best friend and the perfect example of what it meant to live a life of serving. She was a source of support and inspiration to so many. I knew that I was being called to be the same.

I believe that every woman’s power and purpose is as unique as her experiences. Authenticity is everything. Whether I’m speaking to teen girls, corporate audiences, the clients of women’s shelters or a small circle of women in a group coaching session, I always speak my truth. My greatest fulfillment has come from using the good, bad and ugly of my life to inspire and empower other women to begin to heal themselves and let go of shame and fear. I took my truth and experience from the stage to the page, pouring my heart into my four books A Walk in Stilettos: How to Get Through the Struggle With Grace, A Walk in my Stilettos: 111 Affirmations to Help You Heal, A Walk in Stilettos:The Gratitude Journal and The Couples Gratitude Journal.

Being bold in my truth has earned me a reputation amongst my peers as a resilient, integrity-powered professional and an example of strength and courage. It’s been humbling to be recognized by several organizations including multiple features on CBC like Up Close: Black Women Making Canada Better or being asked to run for office to represent my community as 2018 Member of Provincial Parliament for the Liberal Party and being placed on the Black Canadian Awards ‘National Wall of Role Models.’ I was thrilled to be on the national radio station in South Africa (SAFM) right before my book signing in Cape Town. My heart leaps every time I see Linda Proctor’s foreword in my first book, and Derrick Jaxn’s in my second.

But none of those accolades compare to the joy I feel when I see women just like you read my words or use my lessons as tools to overcome obstacles and become their most powerful selves. The journey I’ve been on is a gift. I want to give thanks by giving back.

This is about you—that powerful woman inside you that’s yearning to be set free. My mission is to be an agent of transformation, helping you discover that there is no darkness in your life that is too dark for God to shine through.

I want to help you grow through your struggles and embolden you to walk in a manner worthy of your calling. I’ve learned through my mentor, Bob Proctor the #1 coach in mastering the mind and human potential, to use 57 years of success principles to transform your life. Through my one-on-one mentorship sessions, workshops and Proctor Gallagher consulting (Bob Proctors Company), I offer the tools and motivation to conquer your fears, own your story, and uncover the potential hidden within you.

I can’t wait to show you what God has in store for your life.

Makini ❤
